Pharmacology
BIO
Phillip G. Kopf, PhD, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacology at Midwestern University's College of Graduate Studies in Downers Grove, Illinois. His research has focused on the cardiovascular and adrenal consequences of environmental chemical exposures. Early work established that chronic dioxin exposure induces hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy through CYP1A1-mediated oxidative stress, and postdoctoral studies identified novel angiotensin-dependent mechanisms coupling adrenal steroidogenesis to adrenal vascular tone.
