Alison de la Montaigne, OTR/L, Ed.D.

Dr. Alison (Ali) de la Montaigne is an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Program and the Medical Director of the Therapy Institute at Midwestern University. Dr. de la Montaigne received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health and Human Performance from Saint Mary’s College of Northern California, a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University, and received a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Leadership from National University.
Dr. de la Montaigne's clinical experience in Occupational Therapy began in 2012 and since has experience working in acute/subacute rehabilitation, neuro outpatient, home health, and acute care/ICU. Dr de la Montaigne's clinical interests include working with clients in critical care, working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and community-integrated care. As Medical Director of the Therapy Institute, Dr. de la Montaigne provides direction and leadership for all clinical operations in the Therapy Institute. 
Dr. de la Montaigne teaches the theory courses and the research series in the occupational therapy curriculum. Dr. de la Montaigne is passionate about helping students understand the importance of evidence-based practice and utilizing those skills in their future practice as occupational therapists in the field. 

Dr. de la Montaigne has served as the Vice President of the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association (ArizOTA) for two terms from 2020-2024, and now serves as President. Dr. de la Montaigne is the co-chair of the ArizOTA spring and fall conference committee for ArizOTA. Dr. de la Montaigne is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
