BIO

Dr. Andrea Lopes Sauers is an Assistant Professor within the DPT Program at Midwestern University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas de Minas Gerais, Brazil, an Orthopaedics Physical Therapy Certification and a Masters from Federal University of Sao Paulo (UNIFESP), and a PhD in Translational Medicine also from UNIFESP, Brazil. She practiced orthopaedic Physical Therapy for seven years working in both inpatient and outpatient units within Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo. She completed a two-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Clinical Outcomes Studies at A.T. Still University, Mesa, AZ. Her research interests, in which she has published and presented original research investigations, are in clinical outcomes following rehabilitative interventions, continuous quality improvement in healthcare, community-based interventions and health disparities.
