Anand Rangarathnam, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Anand Balaji Rangarathnam, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech‑Language Pathology at Midwestern University. His research program investigates physiological changes in the larynx as they relate to flow phonation voice exercises and swallowing physiology across the lifespan. He teaches graduate courses in voice, resonance, and dysphagia. He contributes to the field as an editorial board member, ad‑hoc reviewer, and invited speaker in national and international forums.

A licensed speech‑language pathologist with ASHA certification, he brings extensive clinical experience across hospital and outpatient settings and has mentored students on theses spanning voice, swallowing, and speech intelligibility. Beyond the classroom and lab, Dr. Rangarathnam is engaged in academic leadership and community service. At Midwestern University, he has chaired and served on research, diversity, admissions, and education committees.
