BIO

Dr. Brad A. MacNeil is an Associate Professor in the APA Accredited Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program in the College of Health Sciences, Department of Behavioral Science at Midwestern University (MWU). Prior to joining MWU, he was the Founding Lead for the Provincial Center for Training, Education, and Learning (PCTEL) with the Mental Health and Addictions Program at Nova Scotia Health. There he developed the provinicial tranining framework for mental health and adictions for Nova Scotia Health. He completed a CPA Accredited Doctoral Residency at Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster Children's Hospital. He is certified in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) - Diplomate status - with the Academy for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (ACBT) and is certifiedin CBT and a consultant with the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (CACBT). He holds a formal designation as a Certified Health Executive (CHE) with the Canadian College of Healthcare Leaders and a Telepsychology Competencies Credential (TCC) through the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and the Trust. Dr. MacNeil operates a private telepsychology practice where he provides evidence-based assessment, treatment, training, and clinical consultation (www.drbradamacneil.com). He has held prior academic appointments at McMaster Children's Hospital, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences at McMaster University School of Medicine, Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders at UNC at Chapel Hill in the Department of Psychiatry School of Medicine, Dalhousie University Departments of Psychiatry School of Medicine and Psychology (Behavioral Neurosciences), Kingston Health Sciences Center and Hotel Dieu Hospital Adult Eating Disorders Program and Adult Outpatient Psychiatry, Queen's University Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology, and George Mason University (CAPS). Areas of clinical and research interest and content expertise include eating disorders, OCD, program development and competency-based therapy (C.B.T.) training, body image, and the interrelationship between general medical conditions and mental health. He provides expert training and consultation, and has presented his research nationally and internationally.
