TEACHING INTERESTS
Dr. Melyon’s teaching philosophy centers on fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where curiosity, critical thinking, and professional development thrive. He integrates current research, science, and practical applications into his courses to help students develop the skills and knowledge needed for success in clinical practice. By emphasizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking, he encourages students to challenge assumptions, ask questions, and engage deeply with course content—acknowledging the inherent cognitive biases that can influence decision-making. Dr. Melyon believes that effective education goes beyond simply imparting knowledge... It involves teaching students to think critically and skeptically, to question the status quo, and to seek a deeper understanding of the world around them. His goal is to help students build the intellectual confidence and practical competence required for not only achieving success on the PT board exams, but most importantly, for providing exceptional patient care.
