Maggie Klausing, PT, D.P.T.

Dr. Maggie Klausing received her Bachelor of Science in 2008 from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL in Health Sciences. In 2012, she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and Master in the Science of Clinical Investigation (MSCI) from Washington University in St. Louis. In 2013, she completed her Orthopedic Residency and in 2014 became a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. In 2022, she started at Midwestern University as an Assistant Clinical Professor and in 2024 transitioned to an assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) and AAP Regenerative Rehabilitation Consortium (ARRC), Arizona Chapter of Physical Therapy (AZPTA) and American Orthopedic Physical Therapy Section (AOPT). Additionally, she is an APTA Credential Clinical Instructor, serves as an Onsite Reviewer (Practice Area Expert) for the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE), and as an orthopedic council member for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). In 2023, she was appointed as Steering Committee Member for the APTA Frontiers in Rehabilitation, Science, and Technology (FiRST) Network, representing regenerative rehabilitation, and is passionate about advancing the physical therapy profession.  Academic courses taught in the residential doctor of physical therapy program include pathophysiology, pharmacology, and patient management III. She also contributes to Clinical Conditions and Differential Diagnosis, Patient Management I and II, and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation. Research interests include human biomechanics and the movement system impairment approach, investigating using the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) to optimize patient care for orthopedic patients, regenerative rehabilitation, community health, and educational research. In August 2024, she initiated her PhD in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University.
