BIO

Dr. Hawkey began as an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences at MWU in 2022, and is the PI of the Aquatic Neuroscience Laboratory. His research specialties are in vivo neuroscience, pharmacology and experimental analyses of animal behavior. His current work uses aquatic invertebrates and zebrafish to investigate various aspects of the nervous system, and to better understand how certain environmental, chemical and biological factors (and which ones) can contribute to neurological problems during development, or influence recovery from a harmful event. 

 

His lab currently has openings for MABS, MBS and CCOM students to participate in research. Please contact Dr. Hawkey if interested.
