BIO

Dr. Hess received a Doctor of Health Sciences degree from Midwestern University. She completed her entry-level Master of Physical Therapy degree at Duke University, following completion of a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Hess has more than 25 years of clinical physical therapy experience, primarily in the outpatient orthopedics, as well as 15+ years of physical therapy management experience. Dr. Hess' research interests include foot and ankle biomechanics and Physical Therapy Program admissions processes. Dr. Hess is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OSC) and by the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapists as a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT). She also holds a certificate in dry needling and is a Fellow-In-Training in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Dr. Hess is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Academy of Physical Therapy Education and the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She currently serves on the Finance Committee for the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy and as an East Central District Representative to the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Assembly.
