Joe Terranova, Ph.D.

My lab employs a variety of techniques, such as immunohistochemistry, designer receptors exclusively activated by designer drugs (DREADDs), optogenetics, in vivo calcium imaging, and activity-dependent cell labeling. We also have a strong interest in understanding rodent social behavior, and are continually trying to innovate new behavioral paradigms. Finally, we are strongly interested in how sex differences impact neural circuits that regulate social behaviors.
