BIO

Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Indiana University in 2011 and has extensive clinical experience in acute care, critical care, home health, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, and burn care. She became a board-certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist (CCS) in 2015 and remains active in clinical practice. Dr. Johnson has been a core faculty member since 2020, holding positions in both residential and hybrid programs at other institutions before joining Midwestern University's DPT program in 2024. She teaches patient management skills, foundational sciences, and cardiopulmonary and acute care rehabilitation in the hybrid pathway. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Professions Education, with research interests including student learning in the hybrid environment, metacognition, and feedback utilization. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Johnson serves on the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy's (FSBPT) Examination Development Committee and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association's (APTA) Academy of Acute Care.
