Rebecca (Becky) Johnson, PT, D.P.T.

Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Indiana University in 2011 and her PhD in Health Professions Education from the University of Evansville in 2026. She has extensive clinical experience in acute care, critical care, home health, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, and burn care. She became a board-certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist (CCS) in 2015 and remains active in clinical practice.

Dr. Johnson has served as a core faculty member in physical therapist education since 2020, with experience in both residential and hybrid programs. She joined Midwestern University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2024, where she teaches foundational sciences, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and acute care rehabilitation in the hybrid pathway. Her research interests include student learning in hybrid education, metacognition and self-regulated learning, and clinical reasoning.

In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Johnson is active in professional service through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
