BIO

Dr. N. Jim Rhodes, PharmD, MSc, BCPS AQ-Infectious Diseases, is Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Clinical Investigations from Northwestern University. He completed four years of postgraduate training, including a pharmacy practice residency, an infectious diseases specialty residency, and a two-year fellowship in Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy focused on clinical outcomes and pharmacometrics.

 

Dr. Rhodes serves as Clinical and Computational Lead Investigator for the Midwestern University Pharmacometrics Center of Excellence. His research focuses on antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pharmacometrics, model-informed precision dosing, and the translation of quantitative models into clinical practice. He develops computational tools for optimal data analysis and Bayesian antimicrobial dosing and conducts clinical-translational research at Midwestern University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he practices in acute-care infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship. His research program is supported by the NIH, and he is actively involved in professional service, peer review, extramural grant review, and continuing education in infectious diseases and clinical pharmacy. He recently co-chaired the international consensus guidance on beta-lactam antibiotic dose individualization in acutely ill patients.
