BIO

Parres M. Wright, OD, FAAO is an honors graduate of Tennessee State University. She also graduated with Professional Distinction from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. In addition, Dr. Wright completed Residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation and Geriatric Optometry at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at Midwestern University-Chicago College of Optometry where she directs the Low Vison Rehabilitation course and the Clinical Medicine Procedures course teaching injections, suturing, and physical diagnostic procedures. Additionally, she serves as Principal Investigator on research collaborating with behavior health practitioners; exploring the role of age on attitudes and perspectives about vision loss and how to improve interdisciplinary care in those with vision impairment. Her passion is working with visually impaired and geriatric populations as well as increasing access to eye care and eye health education in underserved populations. In her free time, she enjoys family movie nights.
