Rachael Kreisler, V.M.D., M.S.C.E, DACVPM

Dr. Kreisler joined Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in August 2015 to help build a shelter medicine curriculum. In November 2015, she launched the extracurricular mobile clinic program that provides sterilization, wellness, and minor medical services to shelters and reservations in Arizona. In 2018, she became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, and in 2019, she became one of roughly 50 active boarded veterinary epidemiologists through its specialty college in Epidemiology. In 2022, she became the Founding Editor in Chief of the Journal of Shelter Medicine and Community Animal Health, an independent journal published by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.

She is the faculty advisor to the Shelter Medicine club, as well as the veterinary contingent of the interdisciplinary HOME program. She is the course organizer for the Principles of Veterinary Scholarship and Preventive Medicine and Veterinary Public Health 1st year courses, as well as the Shelter Medicine 3rd year elective. Clinical interests include shelter medicine, field medicine, feline medicine, and surgery.
