Laura Rayhel, D.V.M.

I came to veterinary medicine late, after receiving my Bachelor's degree in physics and music theory from Washington University in St. Louis. I enrolled in Fontbonne University, where I completed a Bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. I then attended veterinary school and received my DVM from the University of Missouri - Columbia. I completed a small animal rotating internship at Purdue University, then continued on to a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at The Ohio State University. I joined the Midwestern University Small Animal Internal Medicine team as an assistant professor in 2020. I most enjoy seeing cases related to kidney disease, infectious disease, and endocrine disease. I am also the director of the small animal clinic's canine blood bank, providing blood products to cases seen at MWU and local clinics in need. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and spending time with my husband and two dogs and cats.
