BIO

Dr. Sbarbaro is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program in the Department of Behavioral Medicine at Midwestern University. She teaches a broad range of courses including Psychopathology I and II, Diversity in Clinical Psychology, Advanced Integration of Scientific Knowledge, Professional Development Seminar, and Theories of Chemical Dependency and Intervention. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University and earned her first Master’s degree in Addiction Studies from the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies. She received her second Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) from Midwestern University. She is clinically trained in a variety of settings such as psychiatric hospitals, university counseling centers, private practices, and inpatient substance use disorder treatment programs. Dr. Sbarbaro’s areas of speciality include drug and alcohol addiction, issues related to young adulthood, anxiety and trauma related disorders, motivational interviewing, program development, and interdisciplinary education.
