BIO

Dr. Jentarra received her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Arizona State University in 2004. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Neurogenetics at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 2010 and continued there as a Research Associate studying Rett syndrome and other neurogenetic disorders until 2012. She began her teaching/research career at Midwestern University in 2012 in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. At Midwestern, Dr. Jentarra established her research program with several Rett Syndrome studies and later expanded into Alzheimer's disease research. Since then, her research at Midwestern has primarily been focused on Alzheimer's disease. In 2019, Dr. Jentarra was appointed the Program Director for the newly established Precision Medicine Program in the College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern. She guided the Program's development and oversaw its successful launch in June 2021. Since then she has both continued to direct the Program and has taught in many of it's courses.
