BIO

Mr. Matthew Fardoux is an instructor in the Department of Anatomy at the College of Graduate Studies.  He obtained his Associate of Science from College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL, and his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences & Master of Science in Biology: Human Anatomical Sciences from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. He is currently an Ed.D. candidate at Purdue Global University, with his research project focusing on community college student pathways to medical school.

 

He specializes in teaching lectures covering regional and systemic human gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neurology, cytology, biology, physiology, and biomedical terminology.  Methods used in teaching relate to modern pedagogies and his modified version of the Socratic Method.  Within the gross anatomy lab, Mr. Fardoux teaches dissection skills to DO students from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) and DPT students from the College of Health Sciences (CHS).  He also teaches applied labs with prosected cadavers, silicone plastinates, models, and modern technology to DO students, DPT students, DMD students from the College of Dental Medicine-Illinois (CDMI), MABS & MBS students from the College of Graduate Studies (CGS), MMS (PA) students from the College of Health Sciences (CHS), and OD students from the Chicago College of Optometry (CCO). Mr. Fardoux also provides students with academic advising, mentorship, teaching assistantships, and supervision of student projects.

 

He is the author and Co-Chair of the Strategic Committee on Opportunities, Perspectives, and Experiences (SCOPE). He is also a member of the University Faculty Development Committee, the Anatomy Department's Social Media Subcommittee, the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society (HAPS), and the American Association for Anatomy (AAA).
