Matthew Fardoux, M.S.

Mr. Fardoux is currently an Ed.D. candidate and has focused his research interests on finding solutions to issues faced by postsecondary students, such as barriers, gaps, and underrepresentation. He is currently analyzing data that highlight the barriers community college students encounter when applying to medical programs. The primary goal of this research is to provide evidence-based information that supports equitable access to medical programs. The second goal is to lessen the gap in healthcare disparities by increasing the representation of marginalized groups among future healthcare professionals.

Secondary research interests focus on the teaching methods of human anatomical sciences to all student groups, especially in higher education. Anatomical sciences include topics in human gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroscience, and biomedical terminology. Current interests involve collecting data on effective teaching techniques based on student preferences and technological progress. His work will explore which technologies and resources are most effective for students, such as cadavers, silicone plastinates, traditional models, 3D printed models, guided and Socratic videos, Anatomage tables, HoloAnatomy, and AI generative software.
