Dr. Nydam received his PhD in Zoology and Vertebrate Paleontology from the University of Oklahoma in 2000. He has taught cadaveric-based human anatomy since 1995 at the University of Oklahoma (1995-2000), The Oklahoma City Community College (2000-2001), and Midwestern University (2001-present). Dr. Nydam was the course director for the medical gross anatomy course for AZCOM and AZPOD from 2008-2018. In 2010, Dr. Nydam was promoted to Professor and in 2018 he accepted the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of AZCOM.
In 2016, Dr. Nydam joined a task force to incorporate ultrasound educational longitudinally in the AZCOM medical curriculum. He currently teaches hands on ultrasound in the anatomy courses, works on faculty development, and is collaborating with clinical preceptors of 3rd and 4th year students to expand ultrasound instruction opportunities in clinical instruction. -
