RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Nydam is an internationally recognized authority in the evolution of lizards and snakes from the Mesozoic Era (Age of Dinosaurs). He has 40 published papers, over 30 published abstracts, and over 70 national and international conference presentations. Dr. Nydam has worked with fossil specimens from all over the world and has named several dozen new species.
In 2017, Dr. Nydam initiated hands-on ultrasound instruction in the medical anatomy course. As part of that effort Dr. Nydam has been studying the impact of ultrasound education on medical student learning and perceptions. The results of these studies have been presented at several medical education national conventions.
