RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Kress’s research focuses on clinical education, professional development, and evidence-based rehabilitation. His scholarly work examines professionalism and the formation of professionalism among healthcare and DPT students, predictors of student success in clinical education, and best practices in clinical instruction and mentorship.
In addition, Dr. Kress investigates rehabilitation outcomes following concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and functional recovery in individuals with lower-limb amputation. His peer-reviewed publications include Promoting Professional Behaviors and Attitudes in Healthcare Students: A Systematic Review (Journal of Allied Health, 2024) and Recommendations to Enhance the Residency Interview Experience (Journal of Physical Therapy Education, 2025). His ongoing research includes a multi-site study on predictive factors for recovery in adults following mTBI/concussions.
