BIO

Dr. Kimberly Carter received a Bachelor's in Health Sciences with a concentration in Dietetics from James Madison University in 2005. In 2006, Dr. Carter completed a Dietetic Internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and began a healthcare career as an inpatient Registered Dietitian. With a desire to become more involved in medicine, Dr. Carter earned a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in 2010. While practicing clinically in the fields of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Carter sought opportunities in continuing medical education instruction and transitioned into academia in 2016. In 2020, Dr. Carter earned a Doctor of Medical Science with a concentration in PA education from the University of Lynchburg.

Dr. Carter continues to practice in the field of Gastroenterology and enjoys serving as faculty for CME-sponsored events for state and national professional organizations. Additionally, she serves as a peer reviewer for Clinical Advisor and JAAPA. Kimberly is a member of AAPA, ASAPA, AND, and PAEA.
