BIO

Tamara Turner is an Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator for Midwestern University's Occupational Therapy Program in Arizona. She received an A.S.A in health sciences from Ricks College, an A.A.S. in occupational therapy assisting from Harcum College, and an M.S. in occupational therapy from Belmont University. She completed her Ed.D. in 2017 in higher and post-secondary education at Argosy University. Dr. Turner's clinical experience in occupational therapy began in 2001. She has worked in acute and sub-acute rehabilitation, geriatrics, out-patient neurology, and home health. Dr. Turner began her academic career in 2012 at an occupational therapy assistant program and joined Midwestern University's Occupational Therapy Program in 2015. Her areas of interest are in interactive teaching and learning, refugee adaptation, dementia care, and experiential learning through fieldwork. Dr. Turner has been a member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, American Occupational Therapy Association, and her respective state associations since 1998. She currently serves with the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association and is a 2018 Hospice of the Valley Dementia Care Fellow.
