RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Royeen’s academic and professional interests center on advancing integrated models of care and promoting the inclusion of occupational therapy within interdisciplinary health systems, with a particular focus on innovative and emerging practice settings. Her research agenda aims to strengthen the role of occupational therapy in primary care by addressing barriers to implementation and sustainability, including reimbursement and policy challenges. Dr. Royeen has two accepted publications that specifically examine strategies to advance OT practice in primary care and advocate for improved reimbursement structures to support the integration of occupational therapy within comprehensive, team-based care models that will be published in 2026.
